My Smiley Boys

My little boy and his Daddy! :)

Emmett turned 20 months old on the 16th of January and we just can't believe how fast he is growing up! He is a little boy, not a baby. He says the cutest things (or maybe we are biased).. When we ask him what his name is he says "Em." It's funny because Rustin did not want a name that could have a nickname associated with it.. and now Emmett's choosing to call himself "Em". He definitely has a mind all his own! One of his favorite words is basketball. He'll often say "basketball Daddy". I think he likes to watch basketball with his Daddy. :)
When my mom was here watching him over Christmas break she taught him to say "Thank you Daddy." Now whenever I tell him thank you or we ask him to say thank you he always says "Thank you Daddy" even if he was talking to me or anyone else..
If we ask Emmett if he needs to go potty or has a dirty diaper he'll respond by saying "Eeeww!" and crinkling his nose up.
The boy loves music and enjoys singing "the wheels on the bus", "Twinkle Twinkle", "Shoo Fly Don't Bother Me" and many others. One song he picked up from Grandma Pat is "Rocky rocky little Emmett.. Rocky rocky Emmett Bob".. he says those exact words and it just might be the cutest thing I have ever heard.. :)
We've also learned the hard way that he'll repeat ANYTHING we say. Rustin has slipped up a few times with a certain naughty word starting with s. Tonight he burnt his hand slightly on a pan and said "Ah.. s!" Guess who was right there and immediately repeated it? Hopefully this is a lesson for the adults to watch their language!! Luckily I have been good about not swearing..
He is still loving reading and brings us books but also is starting to like cars and playing with his kitchen. He enjoys playing with his little people as well as problem solving toys like his shape-sorter, geometric stacker and his stacking cubes.

I hope to put up a few videos of him before little miss makes her arrival. :) Then it might have to be all about her for a little while. Hopefully our sweet boy will understand!
